Overview

TerraMar is a high-end restaurant in an affluent neighbourhood, led by a Michelin-starred chef. The interior translates the chef’s cuisine, rooted in land and sea, into a refined material language of fluted timber panelling, woven rattan pendants, cane-backed chairs, deep-blue upholstery and lush planting along full-height glazing.

At the centre of the room, a bar in deep green marble framed by fluted timber and illuminated shelving becomes the focal point of the experience, balancing the long, calm lines of the dining room.

Constraints

The most important challenge was to deliver the full programme, with the required number of tables and seating capacity, without compromising comfort or the sense of exclusivity expected from a fine-dining restaurant.

This demanded an in-depth study of layouts, circulation and zoning, ensuring efficient service routes between kitchen, bar and tables while conveying the luxury and refinement of an award-winning chef’s restaurant.

Outcome

Long banquettes facing loose tables maximise capacity while defining a clear central spine for service. Fluted timber, upholstery and textiles provide acoustic comfort, and vertical wall sconces combined with low pendants create intimate pools of warm light over each table.

The result is an elegant, high-end restaurant with the quality and coherence of award-worthy design, an atmosphere that matches the excellence of the cuisine.
